L'Oréal Magic Retouch Blonde : Review and Video
July 11, 2016Having sworn off home hair colouring years ago after one too many box-related disasters, I now leave my weave to the professionals. As affordable as my hairdresser is, I still can't be going in every couple of weeks for touch-ups on a part-time wage. Hence why for most of last year, I cultivated a low maintenance ombre effect with my natural colour eventually taking over, as seen below.
Hey, did I mention last year I was on TV?
Anyway, as much as I try to keep it real, I just enjoy having lighter hair so I went back to a lighter blonde which I love but it takes a lot more work to keep it from looking ghetto.
I've used root touch up kits in the past but it's hard to get a good colour match and colour bands are the worst. So when I heard about L'Oréal's new Magic Retouch spray, I immediately googled "does L'Oréal Magic Retouch work on light blonde hair". Results were inconclusive. Saw plenty of tests on dark hair but nothing for blonde.
So because it was on sale at Priceline last week, I went ahead and did it myself, on camera for your enjoyment. Unfortunately I filmed in portrait mode! Sorry 'bout it.

If you can't or won't watch the video, let me break it down for you.
No. It doesn't.
I have better results with the regular old Batiste dry shampoo. They make a blonde version as well but I've heard it is quite yellow so I'll be giving that one a miss too.
Edit: I've literally only just noticed from looking at that first picture that it's for GREY COVERAGE. So it may be that because I most certainly do not have any greys that it didn't work. You be the judge. I now have a full can of this stuff so if any dark blonde in the Adelaide area wants it (as you can't post aerosols) please let me know and we can arrange a meet up.
For your information, I have a hairdresser appointment booked for two weeks' time as both my babysitters are currentlyselfishly visiting their other grandchildren interstate.

What do you use on your roots? Any tips for light blonde hair with darker blonde roots?
