Posh Picks: Party Wear
November 11, 2015Obviously we are now hurtling at a rate of knots towards the festive season and the calendars are filling up fast. It's time to start thinking about Christmas and New Year events and, if you're lucky, it's the perfect opportunity to wear something proper snazzy.
Snazzy (or "jazzy", I use both interchangeably) frocks are fun. Stuff you don't get to trot out just anywhere. Think evening sparkles and fun fabrics like tulle with pretty shoes and cute clutches.
As I mentioned in my first Posh Picks post, there are certain things I look for in a snazzy frock (not to be confused with regular, pretty, daytime frock), including:
- Capped sleeves or suitably wide shoulder straps
- Small armholes to prevent side-gape
- Flattering shape/fabric.
- Bust coverage. I will suffer through a strapless bra if I really have to but will avoid if I can.
- General prettiness with fun detail, lace, sparkle or shine
- Any length, depending on the occasion
- Affordable price point, although this is an item that might be worth splashing a little on, especially for a super special occasion or in a classic wearable style

How about some fun new kicks? Who doesn't live for a reason to wear a glittery shoe . . . although if you're going to be standing, walking or hopefully dancing, then keep the height sensible and try and break them in a bit beforehand!
