30 Lippies For 30 Days Challenge
October 02, 2015If you follow me over on the old Insta, you may have noticed a sharp increase in selfies over the last month.
That's because I've been playing along with the Fashionista In Suburbia 30 Lippies for 30 Days challenge, where I set myself the task of wearing a different shade every day.
Guess what? I TOTALLY DID IT!
Coming from someone who had about four lipsticks on rotation only a few short years ago, this is a telling indicator of how beauty blogging can affect your life in a very short space of time. . .
Here I present a months-worth of my head, with bonus unseen Auto-Awesome pics where appropes. I took the photos in the same place out the front of my house which accounts for differences in lighting, depending on what time of day it was!

Thoughts and Observations
I have a lot of Rimmel longwear lipsticks. Probably because they are well-priced, generally well-pigmented, come in a great variety of shades and are long lasting. That ticks all of my lipstick boxes.
That being said, the only criticism I have is that they need to put some more effort into their shade names. Numbers are boring. Having a mix of numbers and names - especially in the same line - is weird.
It wasn't terribly challenging to use a different lipstick every day, it just meant I had to think about what I had on and not "waste" any shades. I tried to save my neutrals for my at-home days and go bold for work or occasions, then I had the back-up balms for no make-up days.
Although I had enough lipsticks to complete the challenge at the start of the month, I went ahead and got some bargains at Chemist Warehouse that were incorporated into the rotation - Rimmel Lasting Finish in "103" and Maybelline Color Drama in "Minimalist" - and I didn't see anything that took my fancy at the Adelaide Hair and Make-up Show.
Favourites - hard to pick. While I do go for neutrals more often, I still love a bright bold lip. I am still really down with the Kat Von D Studded Kiss lipstick in Lolita though, so I'm going to go for that as it's kind of inbetween.
Least Favourites - As mentioned on the corresponding Instagram post, the Rimmel Lasting Finish in "15" is one I picked up in a Priceline dump bin for $4 and never wear because the colour payoff is minimal and it kind of looks a bit Halloweeny. I also rarely wear the MAC LipGlass (bit sticky) or the Clinique Chubby Stick because I'm more of a set and forget type of girl, even though they are both pretty colours. I don't dislike anything enough to commit to throwing it in the bin though!
For your interest, the first lipsticks I went for after the month was complete were Maybelline Color Drama in "Minimalist", then the Kat Von D Studded Kiss in "Lolita" for work the following day.
How many lipsticks do you reckon you have? How many do you actually wear?
