Despite the stern words I've had with myself over the last couple of weeks about reigning in spending on frivolous items and trying to not buy random things with the lead-up to Christmas, I just couldn't help myself with a few little something somethings during the last fortnight.
How else am I going to link up with the Fashionable Mum for Friday Fashionomics??
The first was hitting up Priceline's famous 40% off cosmetics sale . . .
I'm a sucker for anything designed to enhance specific eye colours so I replaced my Covergirl Exact Eyelights Sapphire Black mascara (the first time I've used the same brand of mascara back to back for YEARS) and grabbed the last Almay Intense I-Colour in bold nudes for blue eyes. I'd been eyeing this off for a while but at over $20 had been hanging for a sale! Plus a Rimmel Lasting Finish lipstick in 20. No name, but let's call it PINK ALL UP IN YOUR FACE.
I haven't worn it in public yet but I will be wearing this necklace when I do, don't you worry about that.
Then, this week, I saw an Instagram photo from What The Teacher Wears with a bargaintastic necklace from Sportsgirl so I thought I'd check out their sale rack.
A necklace, two midi rings and a set of three lovely delicate earrings later, all this for a very pleasant $16.
Now, I *really* need to curb my discretionary spending for a little while. I'll let you know how I go with that.
Update: back from lunch with a pair of these from Target (who have 25% off footwear at the moment) and a seasonal Vanilla Brulee hand cream from The Body Shop - but these were identified gaps in my wardrobe/handbag and were always exempt from any restrictions.
Okay, that's IT. From NOW ON.
Maybe.
